More Valentine's Cheer

We have collected more Valentine's Cheer Stories!  Hear from Kathy Hegstrom

 We had a very enjoyable time with Zella, she was very sociable and a delight to talk to. We had brought her a Valentine balloon and card along with a tin of scones and shortbread cookies. We spent our time just visiting and talking about our families, faith, and history.

Volunteers that took Valentine Cheer to seniors are needed to help evaluate and brainstorm how to continue with visitation of senior ladies that are unable to get out. Your recommendations and preference are greatly valued in moving forward to continue this ministry. Any others that would like to join are encouraged to attend also. So grab a cup of coffee, and meet us in room A202 (next to the library) on Sunday, April 7th (week after Easter Sunday) between services (about 10:20 to 10:40). Valentine's Day

Women Ministries tried something new this year.  We decided to connect women of different generations over lunch!  It was such a neat experience for so many women.  It is something we hope to continue!

Linda Hagen visited Covenant Village and setup tea with her grandchildren and 3 ladies.  She writes:  "It was wonderful to spend time with them and they were so appreciative of our thinking of them.    My grandchildren loved the time with these ladies."

Julie, Kinsey and Vivian visited a delightful woman named Muriel.  Three generations, grandma, daughter and granddaughter!  While Vivian explored, and Kinsey chased, Julie got to visit with Muriel and discovered that Muriel had been a missionary to the Native Americans living in the Grand Canyon!  She went there as a pregnant woman and gave birth while there.  Her lifelong journey, from living in Nova Scotia to Bible College to a missionary in the Grand Canyon, has focused on spreading the good news!  Her husband passed away in December after a long illness.  She is now able to attend church more often and we look forward to seeing her there.  She was not even worried that Vivian would break something even though Kinsey and Julie were a little nervous!  Julie got to take home a book about her ministry and is reading more about it!

Barb and Debie, below, had a special visit to Betty and delivered a lap quilt with prayer verses was made by Bev Sechrest created by the quilting ministry under the leadership of Martha Trapp!

Barb Hardison would like to thank the 43 volunteers, ladies of all generations, that took Valentine Cheer to 18 women that for various reasons are not able to get out. The balloons, candy, flowers and/or food were only part of the blessing. Your time and caring will be forever remembered. From what I heard in the voices of you, the volunteer, you too were blessed. Thank you again for your time and talents.
